Are you a stormwater & environmental compliance subject matter expert with at least 10 years of experience consulting with proposal, design, and construction teams to ensure environmental compliance? This position provides an exciting opportunity to join Black & Veatch's Environmental practice to build and manage a team of professionals focused on ensuring environmental stewardship for our clients. Our Environmental team is a multidisciplinary team of ecologists, engineers, scientists, project managers, and attorneys working together to identify optimum environmental solutions for our clients. We have provided environmental consulting services in support of projects for over 40 years including a diverse and growing mix of infrastructure projects such as power generation (conventional and renewable) and transmission, oil and gas facilities and pipelines, water and wastewater treatment facilities, data centers, and food and beverage industries. As a full service environmental consulting practice, services include impact assessment and planning, regulatory compliance and permitting, wetland and floodplain analysis, waterbody and water quality assessment, air quality permitting and management, environmental remediation, site due diligence, environmental noise assessment, pollution prevention planning, and climate action solutions. Key Responsibilities Our subject matter leaders manage teams of environmental specialists and engineers in providing critical support to our domestic and international clients in a particular subject matter/practice area. The Construction Stormwater & Environmental Compliance Subject Matter Leader will build and manage a team of professionals to support our clients in achieving environmental compliance through every phase in the lifecycle of a project; from proposal to design to construction to closeout. Our Construction Stormwater & Environmental Compliance Subject Matter Leader will lead client-focused team to deliver solutions to meet client's needs by:
Building and managing a team of professionals to support BV projects as needed with a mix of office and full-time field professionals. Managing & driving implementation of processes to ensure environmental risk is identified and addressed during proposal, design, and execution. Ensuring Construction Stormwater and Environmental Compliance professionals stay at the forefront of environmental mitigation practices and the regulatory landscape. Providing input, review, monitoring, preventative actions, and course-correcting actions on BV proposals, designs, and construction projects. Providing scalable field monitoring solutions based on project scope and jurisdictional requirements (e.g., periodic/intermittent site inspection vs. full time field monitoring). Advising, Coordinating, and consulting with leaders from the Proposals, Estimating, Design, Environmental, Safety, Health, and Security (ESH&S), and Construction teams. Developing and Implementing training to engineering and construction professionals for awareness and requirements. Management Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications Bachelor degree in engineering or professional degree in Sciences in area of expertise preferred with specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities. A minimum total of 10 years of related work experience is typically necessary to move into this level. Industry recognized credentials preferred as may be available and potentially necessary for job function All applicants must be able to complete pre=employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following:
criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, environmental engineering, or sciences preferred. Other degrees, specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities may also be considered. Proven success managing and providing strategic environmental consulting & solutions to clients through coordination with design & construction partners. 10
years of experience consulting with proposal, design, and construction teams on infrastructure or industrial projects. Expert knowledge of storm water regulations, storm water pollution prevention plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and storm water best management practices. Experience with on-site field management of environmental compliance on construction projects. Demonstrated experience managing teams. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing stormwater and environmental compliance training programs for engineers and construction field professionals. Certifications Industry recognized credentials preferred as may be available and potentially necessary for job function.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Environmental EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
