We are searching for a caring, dedicated and motivated part-time Bus Driver to join our Community Life team.
The main purpose of this position is to provide excellence in customer service and transportation to all Lakeview residents.
Assist other staff members in resident activities as available for community events.
Provide transportation services for all Lakeview residents on a daily basis.
Ensure that residents are taken to the appropriate locations at the right time based on the logs for bus rides.
Assist residents with getting on and off the bus; this may require some physical contact.
Assist residents with getting items off the bus.

groceries, shopping materials, etc.
) Serve as a bridge in communication between residents and staff.
Be knowledgeable about Lakeview operations and programs.
Act as a leader when in charge of resident outings and/or trips.
Report changes in resident behavior to Bus Driver Supervisor or Community Life Director.
Ensure that the bus is kept in good working condition.
Responsible for keeping the buses clean.
Dependable, punctual attendance.
Ensure the resident's rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, and privacy.
Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
The Bus Driver needs to possess the following educational and experience requirements and support the following professional view-points:
Have, at a minimum, a Class B or C Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement.
Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and physical.
Valid motor vehicle license with a safe driving record that is approved by the insurance provider.
Report any changes in resident behavior, safety hazards, or procedural difficulties to supervisor or person in charge.
Responsible for maintaining and meeting all legal requirements for keeping a valid Commercial Driver's License.
Follow Department of Transportation guidelines for driving.
Ability to work independently, display a kind, courteous attitude, and work in a team-oriented setting with residents, relatives, staff and others.
Be an able leader in group situations.
Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, sitting, carrying, stooping, and reaching.
Constant use of sight, hearing, and speech for driving, reading, identification, and communication.
Excellent safety judgment and moderate problem-solving skills.
Sensitivity to the needs and abilities of residents.
Ability to know/learn the mechanics of the bus.
Ability to interpret bus schedules.
Accept advice and consultation.
Dependability, punctuality, flexibility, patience, and humor.
Ability to hear, read, write and speak English when performing work duties that require this need.
Ability to write the English language with proficiency while performing job duties that require this need.
