Position Overview Responsible for providing support to wide array of environmental and regulatory compliance projects related to stormwater management, air emissions and reclamation within the aggregate, ready mix and solid waste line of businesses.
This position will assist with all environmental compliance for the businesses in Kansas and Missouri.
Essential Job Responsibilities Conduct internal audits and implement environmental best practices to ensure facilities and quarry operations are in compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations AutoCad drafting such as basic grading, drainage & site operation plans Basic engineering calculations to support project goals Work deliverables include calculations, design plans, field documentation Understanding of environmental sampling and data interpretation and regulatory environmental compliance requirements Utilize Environmental Management System, maintain environmental dashboard and calendar of compliance tasks Collect geotechnical and environmental samples and collect field measurements Maintain, update and prepare local, state and federal environmental permits, conduct inspections and coordinate improvement projects Work under general direction and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions Duties will include field work with travel to quarry sites and operating facilities Ability to take direction or work independently and coordinate the efforts of environmental consultants Team oriented, motivated Flexible to work simultaneously on various tasks Highly organized and strong communication Qualifications Environmental Engineering degree with exposure to environmental studies preferred.
A degree in an unrelated field with a minimum of two years experience in environmental compliance is preferred.
A combination of education and/or a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience in the industry will be considered.
This position will require some overnight travel within the Region.
This position will be based in the Kansas City area.
