Investment Analyst - Overland Park, KS

The Investment Analyst will help evaluate internal growth investment and acquisition opportunities through financial modeling, developing proposals, and leading aspects of due diligence process.
They will also provide valuable insights to support investment decision making and help implement solutions to track historical performance of past and future capital investments.
This role will sit in the Overland Park, KS office within the broader Finance Group.
The role will have exposure to Team Members across multiple functions of the company so communication, relationship building, and technical expertise are critical skills for this role.
The ideal Team Member will be able to efficiently manage multiple work streams and deliverables across concurrent projects.
In addition to supporting internal capital investments and potential acquisitions, the role will have exposure to many aspects of the company including, but not limited to, Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, and Operational Analysis.
The role will have high visibility to senior leadership and our executive team.
Responsibilities Perform financial analysis and modeling to assess the viability and profitability of investment opportunities.
Conduct thorough due diligence, including market research, financial analysis, and risk assessment, to evaluate potential investment projects.
Prepare investment memoranda, investment proposals, presentations and provide recommendations for senior management and investment committee.
Review of materials specific to an opportunity including; financials, lease agreements, customer agreements, labor and benefits agreements, and more.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commercial, operations, engineering, real estate, environmental and other groups, to gather relevant information and insights for investment evaluation.
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, investment valuations, and performance reports for existing investments.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial models and databases to support investment analysis and reporting.
Analyze and report on current financial performance including variance analysis to prior year with the ability to dig into major drivers of growth or decline.
Manage projects with minimal oversight with personal foresight to ask for assistance when needed.
Synthesize large amounts of information into a manageable and actionable summaries.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
0 - 3 years' work experience as Financial Analyst, Investment Analyst, or similar role.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques demonstrated through prior work experience, internships, and/or university courses.
Advanced expertise in Excel creating spreadsheets, using advanced formulas, and working with large datasets.
Experience with macros and scripts is a benefit.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information.
Excellent analytical skills with ability to provide value outside of typical financial/accounting roles such as investment risk identification and mitigation.
Strategic thinker and self-starter that can work with minimal supervision, manages time effectively, and maintains control over all current projects/responsibilities Excellent interpersonal skills who works well with others in a collaborative environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability for minimal travel.
