Job Description:
The responsibilities of the Software Engineer is for the software development, bug fixing, and product life cycle engineering for the client NAVAID and non-radar surveillance products.
This software development includes working on embedded software in a Linux/Unix environment while addressing cyber security company and project needs.
It is important the candidate live to their schedule commitments and produce high quality solutions, they are responsible for their assignments and for working with their product leads if there is some part of functionality not understood.
The Software Engineer will report directly to the local Engineering Manager of the client NAS business segment.
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility:
Performs software development in support of navigation aids and non-radar surveillance functionality Performs software development for local and remote status, management and control Develops applications in a Linux/Unix environment Participates in integration of software and hardware Provides schedule/effort estimates on implementing proposed solutions Supports configuration management activities for design qualification testing Utilizes a problem reporting tool to document product issues Participates in peer reviews of system requirements, design, code and tests Skills:
Has participated in the integration of software and hardware design projects Has strong background in C+
software development Has extensive knowledge in developing applications in a Linux/Unix environment Proficient with Linux/Unix Ability to perform Linux Kernel modification and customization Familiarity with Linux system admin and cybersecurity assessments and requirements 3
years' experience developing Embedded Software Some experience in Windows application development (e.
g.
MS Visual Studio C++) Self-motivated, critical thinker with strong curiosity to learn Must be self-starter and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) software development Experience in the design and programming of FPGAs Proficient in the use of issue tracking software (e.
g.
Jira) Experience with DOD and/or FAA Programs Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, Italian, French, or German is appreciated but not required Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another technical field Recommended Skills Assessments C+
(Programming Language) Configuration Management Critical Thinking Digital Signal Processing Embedded Software Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
