SUMMARY
PeopleSoft Administrator, Senior under general supervision, administers database, web, application and batch process servers, with a primary focus on setup, configuration monitoring and management of PeopleSoft systems.
This position may be worked from the following locations:
Allen, TX, Shawnee Mission or Lenexa KS, Norcross, GA, Springfield or Monett, MO
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains several database and PeopleSoft environments: applies updates, maintenance packs, patches and fixes for all environments.
Prepares implementation plans for application upgrades and may coordinate rollout.
Designs database reporting infrastructure.
Monitors server performance and recommends changes as needed. May design performance monitoring systems.
Mentors new DBA staff and provides training.
Works closely with developers, support and QA teams to design and optimize all DB and PeopleSoft environments.
Prepares scripts to automate administration tasks.
Performs advanced database administration activities including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, security, database backup and recovery and may design disaster recovery procedures.
Performs installation, configurations and maintenance for clustered database servers.
Plans and performs database server and PeopleSoft upgrades and determines standards for server configuration.
Performs database reviews and provides input to database design.
Writes and reviews stored procedures and makes recommendations for optimization.
May assist less experienced peers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required. Higher level education preferred.
Minimum of 6
years of experience in related field; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong experience with one or more of the following Oracle PeopleSoft system's database, web, and application servers:
Finance
HR
CRM
Hyperion
Has a wide range of experience and able to resolve complex issues. Works on complex and diverse projects. Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Provide technical support for PeopleSoft and SQL Server issues.
Excellent knowledge of database administration, PeopleSoft system administration, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and systems analysis procedures.
Excellent working knowledge of database software and operating systems.
Excellent communication, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in development process. Excellent presentation skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Able to design databases according to industry standards and make tuning recommendations.
Able to write and optimize complex queries.
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Generally, typical office setting with environmentally controlled conditions. At times, will work in low-temperature server rooms.
Able to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
May require participation in afterhours support rotation.
