JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a hybrid position where the ideal applicant will assist in both gathering and documenting requirements for application integration as well as assist with testing and other quality assurance activities as application modules are completed.The position isa member of a dynamic team using the Agile/Scrum methodology of development, working in the rapidly growing area of Business Intelligence.
Technical Business Analyst under moderate supervision, work with other products and teams to gather, analyze, and help prioritize business requirements for harvesting data for inclusion in the Jack Henry Data Warehouse product, jhaKnow. The BA will be expected to participate in daily scrum stand-up meetings.
Duties will include working with other product teams to document data elements within their applications, work with other jhaKnow team members to design appropriate data extraction strategies, and help define how to integrate extracted data into the overall Data Warehouse structure. Knowledge of JHA banking products is strongly preferred
Positionwill also help certify and assure quality of new and existing products by executing test plans and scripts to verify that new or modified software programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Interact with customers and other Jack Henry application specialists to gather and document available data sources for inclusion in the jhaKnow data warehouse.
Help define the system and functional requirements of the product.
Prepare business requirements and functional specifications.
Work with our documentation team to help create end-user manuals and system documentation.
Create and execute test plans and clear, concise test scripts for new products or enhancements to existing products. Define moderate level scenarios and variations in data to adequately perform testing.
Schedule and perform appropriate testing; submit errors and issues to development for correction, and retest once errors have been corrected following established procedures. Reports test results and status as appropriate. Tracks defects and causal analysis to closure.
Interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and development teams to identify and refine test requirements.
Coordinates and performs basic testing projects from initiation through delivery. Ensures that testing projects are completed on schedule.
Help create and maintain test libraries, databases, and test environments.
Assist with alpha and beta testing
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 18 monthsof Banking, Credit Union experience as a Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst or a related field; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred:
Experience using the VSTS 2010
Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
Experience with Agile/Scrum development teams
